I have used different chalk paints, but I will go over the four-chalk paints I use the most.
1. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Annie Sloan is the one who started it all in 1990. This chalk paint is known for sticking to almost any surface. It is especially known for covering fabric. So, instead of reupholstering use Anne Sloan paint to change the look of your fabric furniture. It dries very quickly, and this is especially good if you have a couple of coats to complete. This chalk paint does come at a price. It is a little more expensive than other chalk paint. Also, you can only buy Annie Sloan from their site or selective retails. But you will not be disappointed in using this product.
2. The Rust-Oleum Chalk Paint
Rust-Oleum Chalk paint is another top choice for me. The paint sticks well to many surfaces. The paint goes on smoothly with a couple of coats and with some projects one coat. Dries in 30 minutes and in about 2 hours you can add your glaze or topcoat. The best part is that you can find Rust-Oleum Chalk Paint at most home improvement store and at a reasonable price.
3. FolkArt Home Décor Chalk Paint
This paint was designed for small projects because the mostly sold eight ounces size that is sold. You can buy sixteen ounces and thirty-two ounces, but the eight ounce is the most common. FolkArt Home Deco is great on your wallet because it is affordable. If you do use this chalk paint, you may have to apply several coats than what you would with other chalk paint. Therefore, I usually use the paint for small projects. FolkArt Home Décor Chalk Paint also take long to dry.
4. Americana Décor Chalky Finish Paint
This chalk paint can really give your project a vintage look. It is thick and self-leveling. Americana Decor Chalky Finish gives a great distress look without the challenging work. The downsizes is that this paint only comes in eight ounces only and it does cost a little more. But if you are looking for a good vintage look then this is the paint.
