Style:
Baby Boomers are into everything comfy and calm. Their space will be more traditional or farmhouse. Boomers is more likely to have stuff because they believe in holding on to memories. Their furniture is comfy, and family and friends can probably lay back and put their feet up in a Boomers’ home.
Gen X can go a few ways. They like the Mid-Century Modern, Modern Farmhouse and Contemporary. But either way it must be minimalist, open spacious layout. Their furniture is more likely to be straight lines and modern.
Millennials like to be organized and have a modern eclectic look. Like Gen X they like the minimalist look but with a different approach. Millennials have a modern minimalist look. Their furniture is most likely to be eco-friendly, recycled or upcycled materials.
Gen Z like a some Bohemian style but mostly an Aesthetic style. It is a style that the other three generation isn’t supposed to get or understand. The design is a creation or a vibe that is a little unusual, wild and no rules. It is more of an out of the box thinking design.
Colors:
Baby Boomers like nature-inspired colors that tend to be a little muted.
Gen X like colors that are lighter and brighter but not over the top. So, they can use nature colors like Baby Boomers but willing to brighten it up a little with colors like red or jade green.
Millennials colors are bold magenta pink, copenhagen blue and sesame crunch orange.
Gen Z have taken colors to a different level. They are most likely to have very bright colors in the home. Colors that would make a person say “WOW”. Gen Z are fearless when it comes to colors.
Wall Art:
Baby Boomers like word art. This generation like reading the art on the wall. So, you will see art that say laughter, gather or love.
Gen X wall art will be prints, framed prints or posters.
Millennials are more into line art. This would be more of a modern and contemporary style of art.
Gen Z like DIY artwork. Gen Z are most likely to create their own artwork. Creativity and self-expression are all about Gen Zs.
Placement of TV
Baby Boomers are most likely to have a tv in the living room but differently in the bedroom. Like mention earlier Boomers love comfy and nothing say comfy like watching your favorite show in your own bed.
Gen X is ok not having a tv in the bedroom because they have one in the living room or family room. Gen X is busy enough doing other things besides watching tv.
Millennials have a tv in the living room or family room or both but do not need a tv in the bedroom. Reason for this is, they are probably streaming from their laptops or phones.
Gen Z, who need a tv. This generation is streaming.
