A great Goodwill find.
I first completely cleaned the desk and chair.
The desktop was coming apart at one corner. I glued down the top and clapped it down.
I let the glue dry for 24 hours. Next sand down the area and the entire desk.
I chose Rust-Oleum Linen White Chalked Matte paint.
The desk needed three coats of paint.
I lightly sanded in between each coat of paint.
I got this Thymeless Designs Spring Marseille transfer from Amazon.
Floral and music sheet combo.
I added the transfer to the top of the desk.
The front of the desk.
Then to the chair.
Because this is a kids’ desk, I decided to apply three coats of topcoat.
I’m always looking to decorate on a budget I’m in love with shopping at any discount or thrift store. Making old things new again is like giving new life to an item that has seen better days. I really enjoy upcycling and restoring furniture and home décor.
